My Writing for 6/28/2013

My take on the Aaron Hernandez story as well as the Patriots recent run of negative press and controversy (both real and not so real).

The Oregon Ducks got hit by the NCAA this week for recruiting violations, but got off pretty light. Chip Kelly was hit too, and just as light. Actually, Kelly wasn't punished at all if you think about it.

My Writing for 6/23/2013

I examine the importance of this season's NBA title for LeBron James (his second) as compared to his first title win last season. It's all about who he played and when he played them in the finals.

My Writing for 6/20 & 6/21/2013

The San Antonio Spurs lost game 7 thanks in a big way to their poor defense against the Miami Heat's three-point attempts. Specifically those attempts that came from LeBron James and Shane Battier.

I examine the historical significance of the Heat's 27-game winning streak from this past season. I also compare how history will likely remember this streak in comparison to the 33-game streak of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1971-72 season.

My Writing for 6/17 & 6/18/2013

My recap of HBO boxing last weekend. The bouts were Mikey Garcia/Juan Manuel Lopez and Terence Crawford/Alejandro Sanabria. Both ended basically the same way.

The Heat taking the NBA Finals to a seventh game was all about LeBron's 4th quarter in Game 6. It was what brought the Heat from the end of their season to within a game of a repeat title.

My Writing for 6/13/2013

Game 1 of this year's Stanley Cup finals looked like it was going to be a shocking upset before it became a classic. The Boston Bruins blew a 3-1 lead in the final period of regulation when the Chicago Blackhawks came back. The Blackhawks eventually won in triple overtime. This game now joins a select group of classic multiple overtime Stanley Cup games.

My Writing for 6/10/2013

My recap of Chad Dawson/Adonis Stevenson and Yuriorkis Gamboa/Darleys Perez. These were two totally opposite bouts. One went the distance, one didn't. One was more a technical bout, the other not so much.

My Writing for 6/1/2013

A preview/editorial on the Juan Manuel Marquez/Timothy Bradley bout on October 12 (originally September 14).

The New York Jets have a quarterback freak show on their hands. And that's after Tebow's release and David Garrard's retirement. This is one of those traveling circus type deals, the football version that is.
